weekend

I am exhausted, anyone else? I feel like I need a weekend from the weekend. I'm headed to bed early so I should be feeling better tomorrow. Back to the grind, or "bump and grind" as my husband likes to call it.
I try to stay away from the computer when Israel is awake but he just loves dancing to Miffy's songs, I had to let him. How does he already know how to hold a mouse? Is it a boy thing?
My sister bought me these shoes for Christmas and I love the patter so much. Someday when I'm old and only feel like wearing orthopedic shoes I can look back at what I used to wear.
Speaking of wear...I cheated a little, only $7 worth though! I found this sweater for the husband and at that price, and considering there was just one left, in his size no less, I was obligated to get it. He still dreams of dressing like an old fisherman, every day. Beard and pipe included.
We finished off the night with some roasted tomato Bruschetta and olives, photographed on my kitchen counter, or as I like to call it, the ugliest counter in the world. Seriously, beige textured tile all over the kitchen and bathrooms? What were they thinking? If we ever decided to buy this place, I would rip these out with my bare hands immediately. Like yesterday.

  1. those pictures of Israel are so great!
i don't know if it's a boy thing, but Kyle is a whiz on all of our Apple products. not even 6 months ago [when he was just 4], i found him typing the name of a toy (from the box) into the search bar on yahoo, so he could see what other kinds there were!!!

  4. Lovely pictures, love the little hands on the computer and yes I think is a boy thing that he can hold a mouse because my son did the same thing and know he's 5 and he knows how to use my computer to watch spongebob : ) . Also the food looks great.

  6. They watch us...and learn how to do everything! I have a water bottle I drink out of everyday and my little muffin watches me and wants to hold it and drink herself...and she's 5 months old!

  8. It's not a boy thing.
    It's a this generation thing.
I feel like all the little kids in my life already know their way around a computer.

I agree with you about the tile. When I "pretend" shop for homes online, all I see are bad choices. Did everyone pick everything beige for everything? Is that a 90s thing?

  12. Funny to see your little boy watching Miffy... My daughter loves it, too. Here it's called Nijntje (it's the short name of Konijntje which means bunny in Dutch) Did you know that Dick Bruna (the inventor of Miffy) is one of the ritchest guys of the Netherlands? I kind of like the idea that these things can make you wealthy, too.

  13. @Julia-We watched a documentary about Dick Bruna, we like him a lot. I love that there are other little children miles & miles away that are watching the same as my son!

  14. That photo of Israel's pudgy little hands working the computer is too sweet! But am I the only one who's frightened at how early children become comfortable with technology? What hope is there for those of us who were alive before computers took over so much of the world? ;)
