Akari light sculpture

akari

While in Portland last week we stopped in one of our favorite shops, Canoe, and I picked up this Noguchi Akari table lamp. I like the irregular shape, more organic with one side rounded and the other sort of concave. The cover is made from mulberry bark paper so it’s much more sturdy than normal tissue or vellum paper and I like that it radiates a soft, warm light. We also bought their last chrome Folle 26 staplers which I’ve heard are now out of production, though you can also find them here.

AMM was created as a way to share my aesthetics with the world. Stunning interiors instigated my passion for beautiful, extraordinary, and simple shapes. I was largely influenced by Nordic design philosophy and AMM transitioned from a personal blog into my own collection of interiors, things, visual trends, DIY projects, lifestyle products, and observations. As an interior design aficionado, I would love to see like-minded people, so stay tuned!

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
