dressing for Summer in cotton
Dressing for hot weather has never been my strong suit, I'm more of a Fall/Autumn kind of person because I can layer, and I love to layer. Where we live Summers get quite hot so at the peak of heat everyone around me seems to be in tiny tanks and short shorts. I'm not one to be comfortable in the sort of barely-there garments but I do love tees and I wear them with everything, especially in Summer! What's most important is that the fabric be something lightweight, an airy woven material to stay cool in so I often go for pieces made primarily of cotton. Durability is also high priority as I want something I can throw in the wash and wear again without a lot of special laundering.
I'm happy to be partnering with Cotton again, this time to share some of my fave Summer cotton tees for their #CoolerInCotton campaign. I recently purchased the boxy white pocket tee by Selected because I like the loose cut and the lightweight weave. My closet doesn't have much pattern but I liked the large dots on this oversized top and the pink box top is no longer available but this striped version is a great basic piece for everything.
Jeans are also a staple for me in the Summer (in a light wash), though usually cut off or at least rolled. I didn't show any here but my favorite at the moment are from Weekday, they fit like a glove and even if it's a scorching hot day I throw them on with sandals and a tank.
