My current view is a little chaotic. Some projects on the table, stacks of books on the floor and a painting job needing finished...so I'm enjoying this simple & clean view of a small living room. Wanna see the rest? Here it is.
If it takes me a while to answer emails or if my hair is in a frizzy mess on top of my head, if stacks of laundry have not found their way to the closet or bills lay under plates that held last night's dinner, you can bet it has a lot to do with this girl. Regardless of the sacrifice I love her so.
Elin coos happily when we talk to her and always wakes up with a big smile. She ferociously sucks on my hand if it ever nears her mouth and she loves watching her brother (which is who she's watching in this photo) entertain her with dancing, singing and general silliness.
She has her momma's eyes, her daddy's smile and both of our hearts entirely.
We love you little Elin, more than you can comprehend.
"Ceramics and blown glass are linked by a polished brass ring. The dimmer’s control lever is also made of polished brass.
The ABALLS collection includes a chandelier, hanging lamps available in three different sizes and table lamps available in two sizes."
Beautiful metallics from Hayon / Studio.
If it were ever possible to inherit someone's entire wardrobe I would, without hesitation, want Charlie's.
Women's wear designer living in London, her designs are really simple and shapely but her own personal style is amazing as well. I love the boyish styles with feminine metals, heels or the mix of skirts & sneakers.
(and her mesh top in the first photo is from one of my wonderful sponsors, Beth Richards!)
Absolute perfection if you ask me.
Tomorrow is the day! The wonderful, the talented, the stylish Therese is debuting some new, new things in her webshop including some handmade enamel signs created in cooperation with Skillinge Emalj.
"The hand made stenciling, and the fat, glossy enamel are typical characteristics", Therese says.
T is also launching some large printed photos from her Instagram (please tell me you follow her!) called Instant Stories, signed and numbered and available in 30x40 cm size.

“The idea behind Soft Blocks was to play around with the proportions of a conventional sofa, challenge straight continuous lines and explore the beauty of asymmetry. The result is a playful composition of soft blocks that are ready to welcome you in the most friendly and comfortable way”, Petter Skogstad on the design of Soft Blocks Sofa, from Muuto.
I rarely post videos and yet I've posted two now in just the last couple weeks.
This one, shot by Andrew Telling, I think you will enjoy. Nendo designed this installation for Salone Del Mobile with clothing retailer COS (one of my favorite stores) and it's really inspiring. I love all of the fine angular details using the simplest article of clothing and the perception of shadows, dimensions and movement. Read a bit more about it here and see still shots from the installation as well.
This week has been kind of discouraging. The whole day goes by with very little productivity because my hands are so full with the kids. My work time is usually from 10pm-2am.
Actually, I don't mind taking care of them...it's all the other responsibilities that I can't get to but need to get to that are frustrating. Can't I just sit in bed and cuddle and stare at tiny hands and tiny feet all day? No?
(at least I got this post written, a small accomplishment but I'll take it!)
Do you remember this post recently about trolleys? Well after some back and forth about which one I liked best (within my budget) and whether or not I even needed one to begin with, I chose the Ikea Trendig cart and painted it white. It took almost a week of painting coats after the kids were in bed to finally get this done but I did it. I thought about charcoal grey or black but ultimately chose white because I sort of wanted it to blend in to the background. Also because we're getting a new table and it's black, so wall color made sense to me.
Also, I hung my this tropical leaf print by the amazing Tanja Vibe (All the Way to Paris) from Stilleben in the corner. It's one of my most favorite things right now! Another favorite is the Nyhavn vase Normann Copenhagen sent over. It's matte/glossy and a great rounded shape that looks perfectly good with or without flowers inside!
