Danes in Greece

10.06.2014

Over the weekend I read about this renovated blacksmithery in Greece that serves as a second home or vacation home to three Danish architects and their families. There's is something romantic to me about the idea of a second home, and one shared with other families who go for walks and cook dinner together. A place off the grid a bit, surrounded by water in a quiet city. The interior though is just as romantic as the lifestyle with lots and lots of wood, iron details and a respectful mixture of new and old.
“It’s important when you convert an old building to be careful not to remove the soul of what was there. If everything is renewed, it becomes too perfect,” Dorte Mandrup-Poulsen says.
