Recently I was looking through some photos I took for a magazine and found the ones that didn't make the cut. All of our living room, sofa and cabinet top.

an architect's place

The warm woods in this place are really attractive. I always love when I find homes who can incorporate broad sections of stained wood in a home without making it feel too earthy or warm. This is just the right shade and just the right dose paired with whites & greyish steel. I only wish I could have found larger images for you!

I was recently introduced to this great kids shop La-di-da. I composed some outfits for girls & from their vast selection.

They currently have a great shop wide sale going on and I'm seriously thinking Israel needs a few things!

Also watch out for their Fall line, available next month, July 15th!

The wall that used to hold our String pocket shelves has been replaced by a collage of images. I still have a few more to add including these postcards.
You can find similar prints yourself from Therese Sennerholt, Wonderwall and The Print Atelier.

Also, the project I was working on with Need Supply is up and live, you can see the lookbook I styled & photographed with their new home products as well as read the interview right here. I really enjoyed working with Need, such a great company through & through!

only the softest yellow

I'm not too fond of the color yellow in general. While shades of blue, green and pink can persuade me, yellow has just been a color I've stayed away from in every form. This apartment has the most subtle shades of yellow, creams and whites with just a hint and tiny flowers in the color. I must say that the grey and white really tone down the yellow into something super soft and appealing to me.

An easy way to make a tee & shorts look more complete, I love this breezy look.

round

Round shades are flattering on most face shapes and they come in so many color ways, some with thick frames in opaque colors-those are my favorites.

This is such an early 90's look but also very practical with cool mornings and warm afternoons.

for the weekend

muuto

I rarely talk about kids things but that's something I'd like to change in the coming months. Would you like to see more child related posts, kids rooms, clothes or baby gear?

And speaking of being a parent, I wanted to share that yesterday I was featured (as well as other moms who blog) in an article by the NY Times (wow!) and you can read the entire article for yourself here!

A few other things to leave you with this weekend:

   this mesh Paulistano chair
one of my favorite bloggers just joined Instagram, yippee! and she's also starting a new blog soon
I have a total crush on this dip dye tote bag
while we're talking dip dye, this sneaker DIY is a must try
the new Split table designed for Muuto by Staffan Holm
my sister's baby shower is this weekend and I'm in charge of decorating & thinking of making these
all week I've been working on a project with Need Supply, soon I'll be able to share the finished product, in the
meantime I've shared peeks on my IG

Have a happy weekend!

foods for the weekend

I've made it my goal to try and (hopefully) successfully execute a new recipe this weekend. It's so easy to get into a routine, a rut with food. Too many nights I've ended up with a bowl of cold cereal to avoid making a mess or going through the work of preparing a whole meal. But it's good to learn new things, right?

Here are a few Summery foods I may consider trying, and if I don't I hope you do!

1
Sometimes preparing a sweet treat is the most rewarding. These peanut butter pretzel bars look tasty and should fill that sweet & salty craving.

2
For some reason asparagus is such a Summer vegetable to me (ok maybe to everyone) and capers with a tangy mayonnaise sauce, absolutely!

3
Honeycomb semifreddo sounds equal parts challenging and delicious but totally refreshing.

4
This one has no recipe but there's something about pasta, garlic and lots of roasted tomatoes that sounds like the perfect comfort food. Of course if you can change it up with some sort of spinach or basil noodle, even better.

5
One of my favorite things to do in warmer weather is sit outside and sip some really cold, really fresh juice. Lately I've been making grapefruit juice but these Rhubarb spritzers are so pretty they must be good!

I wanted to share these photos from Swedish shop Artilleriet. I am really fond of the blue tones in these images and the bits of metallic blended in. The artwork leaning against the wall compliments of the browns and blue and greens of the furniture and all the soft whites. Some ideas in case you're looking for paintings for sale.

Hope everyone is having a nice week so far. The last 3 days went by like a blur so I'm trying to grab a hold of what left of the week. We did some touch up painting around our house last night and I think I'm still tired from it!
