new from an old favorite

leilanni
I've long been a fan of Leilanni but this new Summer collection is incredible. Did I mention how incredible it is? I want every piece. I have the leather panel biking shorts but now I want all the other pieces. What was that? You feel the same? Super! She's currently running a 25% off sale with coupon code SUMMERTIME25, go get it ladies!

shop update

shop update!
I'm excited to share that I have a brand new necklace style just listed in the shop. Each necklace is longer, on 24" chains rather than 18" as with most of my necklaces. They have 1 simple, half moon shaped bead that is a great necklace to wear layered or by itself over a nice tee. I also updated the store with some new one of a kind bracelets as well, check them out here.

I apologize for not getting this posted Tuesday, it's been a funny week so it's almost like I'm working backwards. Either way here is this week's, a soft and feminine muted group of items. Enjoy!

I'm beginning to wonder if all real estate in Stockholm looks this amazing? I love the simple decor and gold pendant in the dining room, it's amazing.

Hello, AMM readers!
I am Ana Degenaar, an endless enthusiast, designer by profession and passion, owner of Blog Milk Shop and most recently a nomad. I have a soft spot for Scandinavian Design, travel, kid-related things and our puppy 'Bo. I'm thrilled about being part of this amazing team and look forward to meeting you and sharing more about my passions in this wonderful space created by Jen.

This is what I can beautiful packaging. The beautiful "Sweet Time" in a box concept was created by Penelope and it truly is sweet. A perfect bag tea bag and a sugar cube makes the loveliest afternoon treat.

I love design like this, thoughtful, wonderful and full of genius!

floating

Jeremiah bought this bowl for me for Christmas last year. I love it but it seems to move around the house quite a bit. I used to use it to keep the tv remotes in but now I've got in on the sideboard in the living room. Next week it could move to our bedroom, you never know.
Do you have items like this in your home, that seem to 'float' around from place to place?

Last night seemed like the perfect time to cook outside. Israel was in bed early and it was so pretty outside so Jeremiah & I cooked up some sausage, vegetables and gorged ourselves on strawberries and iced coffee. Sitting outside with my husband just talking and laughing...it was a great night.

Sometimes I can't believe people actually live in such beautiful places. This sort of makes me feel lame about our place, but much more than that I'd say it's motivation.

I love this hand knitted line, so many great colors together and it makes me like knit so much more. I'm seriously thinking about buying one of those collars.

I've had these vintage iron Dansk candle holders for a while but with no candles for them because the spaces are so small. While at the store last week I was looking through the party section and found these neon pink birthday candles. They seemed like they would fit so I took a chance and brought them home.
They're a perfect fit and a nice punch of color for my bedroom desk.

sick days

desk
I have to apologize for the radio silence. I caught the flu Saturday and I've basically been out of commission ever since. Finally tonight, Tuesday night, I'm starting to feel a bit more like myself again, not so tired and weak and I've got loads to work to catch up on now.
I think all these long days, sleepless nights have caught up with me & my body is forcing me to rest. It's really such ironic timing though. I had just about completely caught up with shop orders and I was planning a weekend of working on the house, spending time with the boys and planning our trip to NY next month. Now, I'm peddling fast to get make up for time lost.
It's important to me to keep up with the blog but if it's spotty again this week, I promise next week will be better!

Oh, and I guess I had not mentioned our NY trip until just now. Jeremiah will be celebrating 5 yrs of marriage in June and we've always wanted to see New York. We will be visiting some dear friends, seeing the sights and eating some good food. I cannot wait! If anyone has some must-see places to suggest, leave a comment because I would love to know.

Also, thank you thank you to everyone who commented on the last post! I loved reading everyone else's struggle with maintaining the housework among other responsibilities. I feel bad that so many of us have a hard time with it but I also feel much better to know I'm not alone!

learning to let go

chair
The house is a mess right now. Toys are littered across every room along with jewelry boxes, mail, dirty dishes stacked in the sink and baskets of laundry waited to be folded.
It's not a good feeling, especially when you are at home as much as I am.

When Jeremiah & I were first married we lived in this tiny, cute old house with white walls & a white kitchen, wood floors and two rooms along with a super small bathroom. We loved it. Since it was just the two of us and we didn't have much stuff the house was always spotless. I made sure that everything was put away each time we left and when we came home, the house smelled perfect.
Now in this house where we have Israel, more stuff, the jewelry business and a whole lot less time, I've had to learn to let some things go. Many days we leave the house not picked up because if we stayed to clean every time I doubt we could ever leave.
It bothers me. I feel unsuccessful and frustrated and like the mess of the house creeps into my thinking a bit and makes me feel even mentally messy.
That's not to say the house is never clean, it's clean at least once a day but that doesn't last long. I think what I've learned is that I need to find a way to be content with the way things are. Eventually we would like to have another child so it's not going to get easier any time soon!
