waiting game

tulips
This is an old photo, probably from last year some time but at least 6 months old. I'm still waiting on my camera to be fixed. It's been almost exactly a month since I dropped it off and even though I was told it would be 2 weeks at the longest, I'm still at the mercy of the repairman. I'm trying not to be upset but it's challenging trying to blog or miss out to capturing something Israel did without it. I've been using my iphone & Instagram like crazy but it's just not the same.

I'm curious though, when you're in situations like this, where you have to wait longer than expected or things don't happen like you plan, how do you deal with it?
I realize it's trivial in the grand scheme of things but I know many of you are also bloggers so you must run into situations like this too.

Anyways, I just hope it's soon. I'd love to share some things with you once I get it back!
Hope you all have a great week!

  2. i think it's always hard! the harder times i had was when i had my external hard drives failing on me and no repair could help. that was awful, because suddenly you are left without your memories and even having a camera, it's like you need to start all over again because you're left with nothing. then it actually turns into something exciting, yet... the beginning it's not at all! as i am a photographer, i own 4 cameras, 2 digital and 2 film cameras. so that wouldn't be a problem to start with. but i see lots of bloggers blogging a lot with iphone anyway, so i guess it takes really amazing pictures :) explore there!

  3. I still have my old camera, so I would at least have something to shoot with if my favourite camera would be away. I would miss it immensly though and I am sure I would feel absolutely handicapped. I already felt that way when my favourite lens (50 mm) had to be repaired. Suddenly all I saw were shots that would have been perfect with just THAT lens :-D

I hope your camera will return again soon!

  6. I went through a similar situation a year ago because I dropped my camera and broke something inside of it. It had to be sent off to Nikon to be repaired, and I was so stressed out without it! It seemed like I found a thousand things a day I wanted to document.. and to be honest, when I got it back I truly felt like I was seeing things in a different light. I say enjoy the break and the new perspective that will come along with it!
