Sometimes I wish there was a way we could possibly live with a white sofa but can you
imagine trying to maintain this pretty "whiteness" with a 13 month old? I can't. It's
still nice to wish though and in the meantime, by that I mean the time until our
kid(s) move out, I'll be happy with a darker sofa, one that hides all the sticky
stuff that seems to be all over Israel's grimy hands. Cute little grimy, curious
hands.

  1. gah, where were you this morning when i was looking for exactly these photos?!

i so wish i was a white couch person...as it is, i have a light grey couch, and i'm catatonic when someone eats chocolate anywhere near it.

  5. White and children do not mix! I have older kids and I still wouldn't go there. Maybe when I am retired and live alone (Ha! Ha!). Have a good weekend, Stephie x

  7. I've been dying for a white sofa. I fell in love with one in particular at Crate & Barrel - but it's not the kids I'm worried about so much but my love of curling up with a glass of red wine, on my sofa, in the evenings. It's a disaster waiting to happen.

  8. Most of our furnitures were white before we had kids, including white, soft, beautiful sofas. Now we are replacing one into dark grey, a color looks nice even when it is dirty, that was my purchasing priority...

  9. Yes white sofas are something most parents have to admire from afar. Those and unmarked carpet. Thanks for the beautiful images!

  10. I've always been a white sofa person... until I bought a grey one and realised I loved it! With white walls, white furniture and some wood, the grey stands out really nicely!

  11. i agree...white sofas are completely beautiful...and completely impractical for most families...i don't so much have a 13 year old as i do a 28 and almost 23 year old pair of klutzes. yikes.

  12. our sofa is leather and a light beige. It kind of works the same as white whilst being a bit more forgiving. The leather means anyone can sit on it, 3 kids and even the pooch! leather couches are so great for families! I love it. AND what about that fantastic that wooden floor lamp!!! i want it ;) cheers kari
